ST MARY'S Church, Lifton hosted a display of decorative Christmas trees at the recent Christmas Tree Festival.
Trees were provided and decorated by local groups and included the WI tree made of books, promoting the 'Save our Libraries' campaign; the Scouts with 'Recession Decorations' and 'Community' showing the work done by team Lifton.
Local businesses were represented by Tavistock Pet Shop with 'Pets' Delight', Kelly House Events with a 'Gingerbread Tree' and Lifton Farm Shop with 'A circle of Love'.
Local churches showed very loyal support, including Lifton Methodist Church with 'Christmas Songs of Praise'.
Visitors voted the Scouts as the winners of the 'Most Original Tree' with decorations made from recycled paper, and the 'Tree That Best Reflected the Spirit of Christmas' was won by Lifton Methodist Church with their tree 'Songs of Praise'.
Thanks were expressed to everyone who took part for their support.
