YELVERTON Golf Club veterans continue their successful run of matches against other vet teams in the area.

Against Thurlestone Yelverton won five matches to one; the winning pairs were Graham Plumb and Mike Ayres, Brian Medhurst and Richard Edwards, John Soutar and Keith Marshall, Keith Stokes and Brian Wardle, and Peter Taylor with Ray Hutchison.

A similar result was achieved against St Mellion, the winning pairs were Graham Plumb and John Gilmore, Dick Cole and Richard Edwards, Steve Read and David Kelly, Dennis Voisin and Ray Hutchison, and Brian Wardle with Colin Brown.

Yelverton had already won away against Dawlish Warren and followed this up with a win at home on the 4½-1½; the winning pairs were Graham Plumb and Brendon McVeigh, Mike Ayres and Ray Hutchison, Dennis Voisin and David Kelly, and David Jeremiah with Terry Maber; Mike Martin and Mike Bates halved their match.

Their most recent win was against Torquay on August 9 by 4-2; the winning pairs were John Soutar and Andy Rae, Brian Wardle and Jack Bovingdon, Nick Ring and Bob Griffin, and Mike Martin with David Hanley. 

Their only defeat was away to Wrangaton, 2½-3½.
