AN investigation is underway after a man was found hanging in a prison cell at HMP Dartmoor.
Police and paramedics were called to attend the Princetown prison at around 5.30am on Sunday.
Police have said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the 22-year-old man, named by the Prison Service as Oliver John Pascoe from Newquay.
His death is being treated as unexplained and an inquest will be held at a later date.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: 'Mr Pascoe was found unresponsive in his cell at Dartmoor Prison at about 5.25am on March 8. Paramedics attended but he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
'As with all deaths, the Independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation.'
Police said Mr Pascoe was jailed in December, 2014, for seven years following two robberies.
