Duchy KO Cup

Chillaton A 3

RAF St Mawgan 2

CHILLATON fought hard to get back from two goals down.

The yellows were behind after 15 minutes when a long range shot was deflected off Graham Hatchers to beat Pete Daniel in Chillaton's goal.

On the half hour the visitors scored their second.

Chillaton managed to reply just before the break when Anthony Jones drove a low free kick into the box for Danny O'Hare, playing in a new midfield role, to push into the net.

The second period started with player manager Steve Teirnan pushing his players on at every opportunity and Alan Anderson made the score level with a 30 yard shot.

Williams, Daymond, and Brooks all worked hard and persistence paid a minute from time when Daymond followed up a back pass to the visitors' keeper, collected the rebound and scored from a narrow angle.

Callington Reserves 3

Chillaton B 0

WITH three key players unavailable and first team call ups depleting the squad, manager John O'Hare was philosophical about this defeat.

Playing a stronger Callington side than two weeks before Chillaton second team found themselves two goals down in half an hour.

Lethbridge, Cole, O'Hare and Crockford had a lot to do at the back and the yellows' midfield were unable to get good service to Hannant and Cowling up front.

Byworth and Smith made the most of what ball they had but few chances came Chillaton's way.

Callington drew further ahead in the second half and avenged their 2-0 defeat by Chillaton two weeks before.
