DAVID Essex is to star in a brand new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber?s most romantic musical, Aspects of Love. This is the first time in more than 15 years that audiences around the UK will have the chance to experience a show which the Daily Telegraph described as ?Lloyd Webber?s best?. Aspects of Love plays at the Theatre Royal Plymouth from Tuesday November 13 to Saturday 17 November. France 1947. Alex Dillingham, fresh from England, falls in love with the alluring actress Rose Vibert. After a little persuasion, Rose joins Alex at his uncle?s villa. As the pair embark on a passionate affair, the unexpected arrival of Uncle George (David Essex) changes their lives forever. From the cobbled streets of Paris to the mountains of the Pyrenees, Aspects of Love is a heartbreaking love story spanning twenty years. Passion, desire, family ties and friendship bind five people and three generations together as they learn how love changes everything. Aspects of Love originally opened in the West End in 1989 breaking box office records and garnering acclaim for what many critics described as Andrew Lloyd Webber?s most romantic score. With lyrics by Don Black (Tell Me on a Sunday, Bombay Dreams) and Charles Hart (The Phantom of the Opera), the show features the international hit Love Changes Everything. David Essex has enjoyed a remarkable career as a recording artist, performer and composer. He has written, recorded and produced albums and singles that have sold millions of copies worldwide. He has twenty three Top 30 hits to his name including the number one singles Hold Me Close and Gonna Make You a Star. He appeared in the original London productions of Godspell and Evita creating the role of Che Guevara. Starring alongside him are Shona Lindsay, Matt Rawle and Poppy Tierney. Shona Lindsay?s credits include Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Sandy in Grease and Milly in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, all in the West End. She is a regular on BBC Radio 2 and her television credits include two series of the critically acclaimed Adrian Mole and Sandra in Mother?s Ruin. Matt Rawle starred as Che in Andrew Lloyd Webber?s new production of Evita at the Adelphi Theatre, London. Poppy Tierney?s credits include the title role in Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, Cosette in the national tour of Les Miserables and Ellen in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
