THE front of Tavistock Town Hall will again be bejewelled with special seasonal illuminations when Tavistock Lions Club erect three Trees of Light.

The intention is that people can sponsor the light bulbs in memory of a loved one or cause, with the proceeds going to charity.

The lights will be switched on at 7pm on Friday, November 26. This will be followed by a short service of dedication to which all sponsors are invited. Following the service the town Christmas lights will also be switched on.

Last year, £3,000 was donated to the local branch of Macmillan Nurses who provide support to patients in their own homes. This year the proceeds will be divided between Macmillan Nurses and the Children?s Hospice South West.

The Lions expressed thanks to Tavistock Woodland Sawmill for its continued support by sponsorship of the largest of the three trees.
