Tavistock U13s 43
Plymstock Albion Oaks U13s 5
PLYMSTOCK kicked off and Tavistock gathered the ball and attacked from deep, moving it to midfield then recycling quickly to put Dawes in space on the right which he finished off in style.
Dawes, who supported play and defended with a good instinct to turn defence into attack, added another quickly. POA responded to the loss of 12 points so quickly and played some good tactical rugby, kicking to the corner and pinning back Tavistock on their line before a well deserved score by the forwards.
Tavistock came back strongly with good individual running from deep by Finlay Ross and outside centre Birch, who scattered the defence with clever running lines.
The Tavistock forwards struggled to stamp their authority on the game until late in the half when a powerful run from second row Will Hill set up a ruck from which No 8 Glen Fuller ran through the last line of defence to touch down.
After the break the Tavistock forwards increasingly dominated scrums and lineouts with Will Hill and Alex Boswell to the fore.
This provided Glen Fuller with the platform to launch runs from the base of the scrum to provide an additional dimension to the attack.
Fly half Danny Goldstone on his debut displayed a keen eye for a break and consistently found space for his outside backs.
Man of the match: Kier Murphy.
