Okehampton Argyle 2nd's . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1

ANOTHER very good win for Okehampton who completed the double over Dunkerswell and by a scoreline that doesn't tell the full story.

Dunkerswell started very lively and Okes' defence were tested in the early stages and not found wanting.

Chris Dearing and Steve Harris both took early bad challenges. It was to be a battle that Dunkerswell were never going to win. James Williams won every tackle and his distribution was spot on and with Roger Voaden in total control down the right side Okes looked impenetrable.

Okes looked very sharp up front with Tim Shaw and Steve Williams closing down at every opportunity. The only goal of the game came mid-way through the first half when a very alert Daniel Johnston took a very quick free kick to find Tim Shaw who took on his marker in the box.

The ball struck the defender on the hand and it was Johnston who calmly put away the penalty kick. Second half saw a very solid performance with Steve Loftus showing some nice touches and Ben Woodhouse showing good pace and skills down the flank on his debut.

Colin Maddax looked unbeatable between the sticks and Aaron Bourne and Tom Williams both looked strong on the ball. Tthe home keeper pulled off several fine saves and Okes forwards wasted a couple of easy chances to extend their lead. Next match Home v Exeter Bohemians 6.30 KO Monday, April 22.
