Duchy division 1 Mevagissey 2 Lamerton 1 LAMERTON were forced to make changes, with defenders Paul Breyley and Panda Williams away and it disrupted the consistency of recent weeks. Dan Healy fell back to centre defence and new signing Kyle McLaughlin, came in at right back for his first start. The young defender impressed and gave Lamerton the lead after 10 minutes when he swung in a dangerous shot-cum cross from 25 yards. Dan Healy hit a low shot across the keeper from the edge of the box, which seemed to be heading in, but took an unfortunate roll and hit the post, coming back to the home keeper. Minutes later Mevagissey striker Ollie Evans shot from 30 yards and keeper Pete Daniel saw it loop agonisingly over his head. Lamerton were confident for the second half, but Mevagissey defended resolutely and with a local crowd behind them, kept Lamerton at bay. They even stunned the away team with a fantastic goal on the hour. With confidence high, they could have scored again, but for Daniel?s amazing double save. D Healy and Simon Breyley joined the attack in the last ten minutes; but Mevagissey would not be broken down.
