AT the recent time trials (Cycle 4) at Tavistock Swimming Club, the most improved swimmers in the 100m individual medley were Danielle Masters, who took an impressive 26.52 seconds off her previous time and Rufus Gould who improved his time by 17.34 seconds.
In the 200m individual medley Samantha Jarman took 22.48 seconds off her time and Matthew Langman improved by 19.21 seconds. A wonderful achievement by all the young swimmers.
Last week the squad were in action in the first round of the Cornwall and West Devon League at St Austell. They all gave 100 per cent effort and the vocal support from team members - and parents - was much in evidence as they swam to second place.
Assistant coach Rachael Warnett described it as a wonderful team effort and said the squad was looking forward to competing in the second round which will be home gala held at Kelly College. Team captains were Peter Freedman and Rosie Yull.
Club night is held on Sunday evenings and additional sessions are available during the week, some concentrating on technique and others on stamina.
