A GROUP of Tavistock youngsters staged an original dance and music show recently, raising hundreds of pounds for charity.
Originally the brainchild of Tavistock resident Antonia D'Alessio, this was the second show of its kind.
All the dance performances during the event at Kings in Tavistock, were choreographed by the young people themselves and most of the musicians performed their own material.
There was a broad mix of musical genres with rock, swing and a slightly more folky sound and the dances ranged from ballet, jive and tap to more contemporary pieces.
The event raised more than £900 for Cancer Research UK, and the youngsters have done their bit to help others while also enjoying themselves and providing entertainment for others.
The show was well supported by many businesses in Tavistock who sponsored the event, donated raffle prizes and provided hair styling, and Kings let the performers rehearse in the venue for free.
