AROUND 30 people gathered before the sun came up to celebrate the arrival of spring at the annual Merrivale Dawn Chorus last week.

The participants sang and danced to greet the dawn as the sun rose on the first day of May at the Merrivale Stone Circle.

The event was held as part of the Tavistock Music and Arts Festival.
