THERE's an opportunity to watch dancing and listen to live music at a special event being held in Tavistock next month.

The dance and music show is being staged by Tavistock resident Antonia D'Alessio and a group of six friends and will raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Antonia said: 'We did a show last year and raised about £470, so we thought we'd do it again this year.

'We've all been affected by cancer in some way so we all decided to do something about it.

'The show will mainly include our group of six local girls performing dances we have choreographed ourselves as well as local bands, singers and dancers.'

Antonia said the girls would be performing a variety of dances — there will also be a raffle which has been generously supported by local businesses and which includes a top prize of Cornish holiday break.

The dance night takes place on September 17 from 7.30pm until 9.30pm..
