OPERATION Overlord is the subject for Callington Museum?s latest exhibition which is set to open at the start of June.
A commemoration of the D-Day landings, the display will feature maps, photographs and memoirs of the invasion, from people in the Callington area.
The exhibition will also feature a book produced by Portsmouth Museum featuring an embroidered quilt produced by members of the Mustard Seed Church in Callington.
The quilt is a fascinating piece of historical stitchery featuring images from the D-Day landings, including the poignant image of a lone piper who risked his life to continue playing for troops landing at one Normandy beach.
The exhibition will be unveiled on Saturday June 4 and everyone is welcome to come along.
The museum in Liskeard Road is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.
l Operation Overlord was the codename for the D-Day invasion.
