TAVISTOCK?S road and track cyclist Louise Amery, 17, has been selected to join the Great Britain Olympic Development Programme based at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester. Louise has been a member of the World Class Start Programme for the last two years and receives Lottery funding from Sport England and Persil. One of Tavistock?s local businessmen, Andy Coad, of the Ordulph Arms, has also helped with sponsorship. Louise?s selection for the Olympic Development Programme is based on her performances at National and International level in road racing and track racing in the Velodrome. Louise, formerly a very successful triathlete, won the London Triathlon as a junior and represented Kelly College nationally as a swimmer and biathlete. Louise is looking forward to representing Great Britain and the exciting travel opportunities which it brings.
