TWO men from Tavistock will be cycling almost 100 miles next month to raise money for a local charity. Cousins John Carpenter, 37, and Robert Curtis, 34, plan to set off on the journey in aid of the Mustard Tree Macmillan cancer relief charity at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital on Saturday, February 16. The pair cooked up the idea a couple of weeks ago after deciding they wanted to raise money for the charity which they feel has done so much for their family. The route for the sponsored bike ride will start in Tavistock and will take them to Derriford Hospital, from there they will ride to the North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple. They will stay overnight in Barnstaple and travel back a different route to Tavistock on Sunday. Once they arrive in Tavistock they will cycle to Derriford Hospital to present their cheque to the charity. Anyone who would like to sponsor the cousins can do so by contacting John on 01822 610628 or by visiting Bob's Café in Tavistock Pannier Market.
