BEFORE winter sets in would it be possible for the police, nationally down to locally, to publish the requirements for the lighting of cycles after dusk and before dawn. Before these mini-lights became available lights were required at front and back affixed to the cycle, red to the rear.  Anything goes now. Having to go out this evening I could easily have killed a cyclist who obviously thought I could see the white mini light projecting from his forehead in some way. Not only was this a danger to him, but a danger to pedestrians who would have little chance of seeing him, except for a glancing view. And while I am at it, why are there so many cyclists, oblivious to motor vehicles, using the main Tavistock/ Plymouth road (and paths) when a specialised cycle path has been constructed at great expense between these destinations? I am frankly amazed that the incidence of death among cyclists has dropped recently. Tony Newell Abbey Rise. Tavistock
