Hear, Hear! Well said Gill Squires (Letters,?November 15). I've thought for years how dangerous it is, walking along a shared cycle/walkers track, especially with a dog.

The crunch of gravel underfoot means you just can't hear cyclists coming up behind you.

Sadly, I guess is isn't 'cool' to use bells on bikes anymore — but they do the trick like nothing else!

I believe cycle bells should be made as mandatory as helmets (Sustrans take note please)
