FIREFIGHTERS from Princetown and Moretonhampstead used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a person trapped in a car following a collision at Powdermills, near Postbridge on Monday morning. Princetown sub-officer Henry Melle said the front of the car and driver?s door were crushed by the impact of the crash, trapping the man inside. ?We had to cut the roof and the door off to get him out with the assistance of the ambulance services ? he was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance,? said Mr Melle. The road was closed for a time after the incident. The female driver of the other vehicle was treated by paramedics at the scene but was not seriously hurt in the crash.
