Duchy division two
Looe Reserves 6
Calstock 2
LOOE got off to a good start scoring the first goal and creating many chances but Calstock soon replied when Shane Richards played a ball through for Darren Benfield to slot home in the bottom corner.
Looe continued to create chances but the first half became scrappy with both teams putting in firm tackles and breaking down play. Calstock failed to take advantage of the slope of the pitch in the first half, making it an uphill battle for them in the second half.
Calstock came out strong for the second half putting in strong tackles and passing the ball well. But the visitors went in front when Lee Hould curled in a corner kick; the Looe keeper came to claim it, missed and fumbled it into the back of his own net to make it 2-1.
Calstock defended well with man of the match Paul Cottingham putting in a solid performance. It was not long until Looe equalised after the Calstock keeper came off his line and failed to collect the ball — a foul on a home player resulting in a penalty and a goal.
Looe played to the advantage of the pitch lumping the ball forward for their quick front men and unfortunately for Calstock, made the most of their chances, resulting in three more goals. Despite the scoreline it was a strong second half performance by Calstock.
