PRINCETOWN Carnival drew a tremendous crowd on Saturday as the rain held off for a day allowing a host of activities to go ahead.

The sun broke through for the carnival procession and organisers were pleased to reveal they had raised more than £1,000 for the Princetown Community Fund.

Marjorie Sinclair said: ?We were very pleased with how the day went. ?Lots of people turned out for the procession and the tombola went very well as well.?

An all-day barbecue behind the Railway Inn was followed by a disco, raffle and ram roast at the Plume of Feathers in the evening. Carnival organisers are planning to donate the day?s proceeds to a number of chosen charities.
