TWO firecrews from Tavistock were called to a fire in a house in Cramber Close last Tuesday night, in which a room was damaged by smoke. Spokesman Glenn Arundel said the fire was confined to the bedroom of the house ? neighbours had tried to extinguish the blaze but were overcome by smoke. They were treated by ambulance crews at the scene but were not hospitalised. l A fire engine was called to tackle a car blaze outside the Leg O? Mutton in Yelverton last Saturday. Two hosereels were used to tame the flames which caused extensive damage to the vehicle.
