MEMBERS of Yelverton Fire Crew have not stopped smiling since receiving their brand new fire appliance earlier this month.

As well as containing new cutting gear to release people trapped in their vehicles after an accident, the state-of-the-art appliance has many new features, including positive pressure ventilation, which can clear smoke and reduce smoke damage, and a new mobile data terminal.

Fire officer Fred Glanville said it was great news for the fire station and it would have many uses.
