FIRE control received a call from police on Monday morning reporting a road traffic collision at Denham Bridge near Bere Alston.

A crew from Bere Alston attended just before 5.30pm, made the vehicle safe and washed away the fuel while awaiting the recovery of the vehicle.

Firefighters from Tavistock, Bere Alston and Yelverton were sent to a road traffic collision on the B3257 at Orestocks, just outside Tavistock last Friday (November 13).

Crews found two vehicles had been involved in the collision at around 1.40pm with one female trapped. They used hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools to release the female casualty from the vehicle on a spinal board, assisted by paramedics.

Crews were called to help an elderly lady who was trapped in her vehicle following a single vehicle collision in Pixon Lane, Tavistock last Thursday (November 12).

Firefighters attended just before 6.30pm and used road rescue tools to release the casualty who was taken into the care of paramedics. Police also attended and duty of care was left with them after crews had made the vehicle safe.
