Tavistock U13s 27
Crediton U13s 12
A TALENTED and committed Crediton team soon made it clear that this was not going to be an easy match. Tavistock captain Charlie Fethney was unlucky to drop the ball just short of the try line, but came straight back, charging down a 22 drop out. Tavistock dominated the lineouts in the first half, but gave away an uncomfortable number of penalties for minor infringements.
The Crediton number seven won the first try, with a blistering run down the left wing which none of the defenders were able to match. Brady Workman and Charlie Fethney soon responded with two tries in quick succession. Crediton caught Tavistock napping at the kick off for the second half, scoring in the first minute. Moments later, Joshua Blake came agonisingly close to scoring, but set Alec Hampden-Smith up for another try. The strong wind did not make things easy for kicker Tom McMahon, but he found his range, Crediton continued to press but two more tries from Charlie put Tavistock well ahead. Crediton can be proud of their performance.
