FREE workshops are being offered to help people of all ages tap into their artistic talents in a programme of taster sessions.
The Duchy Square Centre for Creativity in Princetown is working with Lean Devon to give local people the opportunity to discover what is on offer from resident artists based at Duchy Square.
There are two sessions of 'Spinning on a Shoe String' with Jane Dean, which gives the chance to learn the techniques of hand spinning using wool, and make spinning devices from everyday items, on February 18 and March 13, from 10am to 1pm.
Sewing enthusiasts are invited to join the Skills in Alteration workshop on Saturday February 20, from 10am to 1pm, in which local artist Lucie Ponsford invites people to bring their old clothes for a fast track repair and alteration session.
In a separate session, 'Accessories from Old Garments' on Friday March 12, 10am to 1pm, Lucie will show how it is possible to create fashionable accessories from old clothes.
Other sessions include 'Wild Weaving' on February 23, 'Dyeing Naturally' on February 20 and March 5, 'Felt Revived' on March 6 and 'New Items from Old' on March 11 and 16.
