PARKING in the loading bay in Tavistock's Bedford Square on farmers' market days was 'unacceptable', town councillors agreed at last week's meeting of the properties committee.

Cllr Brian Trew said the problem had been particularly bad over the Christmas period.

The committee agreed the clerk should write to the organisers of the farmers' market to stress the fact that the loading bay should not be used for parking.

Clerk Carl Hearn said a copy of the letter would also be sent to West Devon Borough Council's traffic enforcement officers.
