Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup 4th Round Tavistock 5 Brixham Villa 2 THE Lambs came through what is always regarded as a banana skin of a tie against opposition from a lower league. They were without the services of Glynn Hobbs (suspended), Mike Ascott (League Duty) and Sean Cann (illness) giving the chance for other squad players to start. It was one of those players, Cowling, who took advantage of the situation to put the Lambs in control when he raced onto a Chris Menhinick cross field through ball to shoot wide of Dan Gillard in the very first minute of the game. John Hadjiyianni then forced Gillard to save before the visitors? first chance fell to Graham Culley only to shoot straight at Andy Meeds. The home side went further ahead after 24 minutes. The ball was partially cleared from a free kick for Shane Krac out wide on the left to send it back in. Hadjiyianni and a defender challenged for the ball but it seemed to go over them to deceive Gillard to go straight into the net with ?Hadji? signalling frantically that he had got a touch to claim the goal. Tavistock were two nil up and cruising but it was all to change dramatically before the break. Brixham showed their content with Culley shooting just wide before the half hour. The visitors from the South Devon Premier League got themselves back in the game on 38 minutes when Culley combined with Neil Dyke for the latter to get a shot away. Meeds blocked his effort but the ball broke loose for Dyke to have a second bite to slot home. Five minutes later they were back on level terms when the Lambs were exposed down their right for Mark Constable to cross. Hesitancy in the Lambs defence allowed Dyke in for his second. The second half was just eight minutes old when Cowling slipped pass his marker on the left to send in a cross that came out to Will Stringer to steady himself to shoot low past Gillard. A Krac free kick saw Conday hit a post before Cowling chased down a lost cause to win the ball out wide to cross for Conday to slot home from close range. The final goal to seal a good performance came in the 86th minute when a cross field pass found James Steer on the half way line to progress into the Brixham area to be fouled for Stringer to make no mistake from the spot. This victory sees the Lambs take on Friary Vaults Mount Gould on January 14 at Langsford Park.
