ON a wet and dark evening Whitchurch were put into bat by Plympton.
A slow outfield and accurate bowling kept the Whitchurch batsmen tied down, with quick singles by Newton and Smith keeping the scoreboard ticking over.
When Smith was out Court came in and set about the bowling with a rapid 19, enabling Whitchurch to set a challenging total.
Court and Hulbert kept the Plympton batsmen on the back foot, but Wrench was biding his time and, having seen off Court, launched a violent assault on the Whitchurch bowling, seeing Plympton home with overs to spare.
Whitchurch man of the match: Iain Court.
