A CHAGFORD couple have completed 2,000 miles of their ambitious cycle ride to India for charity.

Dougie and Tamsin Rowe, who set off in July, aim to reach their destination of Delhi in four months' time, when they will have clocked up 5,000 miles.

The challenge is to raise £4,000 for Population Concern, a UK-based charity that works in Asia.

The couple are currently travelling through Romania and on arrival in India, they plan to do six months of volunteer work before returning home.

They had hoped to raise £10,000 for the charity but foot and mouth restrictions forced them into cancelling some events before setting off.
