FIFTEEN Kelly College pupils qualified for the National Biathlon Championships at the regional biathlon championships at Tiverton.
The competitors swim and run separately with times being converted into points to find the overall winners.
The Kelly College team competed against athletes from all over the South West, with six individual winners and three winning teams in the boys? youth B, C and D events.
Kelly College triathlon coach, Rich Brady, said the team had a fantastic day, rising above their current level fitness. The team can now look forward to the National Championships in November with the real possibility of every team member winning an individual or team medal.
Lawrence Oxborough in the youth D boys had the fastest swim and run in his age group.
Individual winners: Rich Brady (senior men). Junior men: Matthew Slator, Matthew Henry (youth C ? 13/14 years); Lawrence Oxborough (youth D ? 11/12 years). Flora Duffy (youth A ? 17/18 years) and Sophie Reynolds (youth B ? 15/16 years).
Other qualifiers: Youth B (15/6 years); 3rd, Junior Heffeman, 5th Luke Wakefield, 6th Alex Richards. Youth C (13/14 years): 4th Joshua Lake, Greg Shrosbree. Youth D (11/12 years); 2nd Cameron Warren, Oliver Lake as part of team. Youth E 9/10 years): 3rd Danielle Shrosbree.
