HEAVY rain has resulted in a Horrabridge road being closed again ? weeks after sewage works had finished. Station Road was closed for eight weeks in April so a sewer could be enlarged. Now it has had to be closed again after the road surface was lifted up because of heavy rain last Thursday. Due to the extra rain the sewage system was full and was going at ?full pelt?, causing the water to rise up through the road surface. Devon County Council said the road could be closed for two weeks while repairs are carried out. l A road in Tavistock has been closed due to heavy rainfall last Thursday. Ogbeer Lane at Mill Hill has been closed for approximately one week so that damage to the road surface can be repaired. The rain was so heavy that it flowed like a river and got under the edge of the top layer of the road ? lifting around 400sq metres of the surface. The road will be closed while the Highways Department repairs the damage. The cost of repairing damage on West Devon roads badly effected by the recent rain, is estimated to be between £40,000 and £100,000.
