A PRINCETOWN councillor has resigned from Dartmoor Forest Parish Council after three months due to a job move out of the county. Steve King moved to Princetown last year when he started working for Dartmoor Prison, but in December was assigned to Dorset Prison with immediate effect. Mr King was one of seven councillors working for Princetown within the council. His resignation took effect in January 2007. Ann Inman, parish clerk, said: 'He was a councillor before in Dorset so he brought experience to the council. He certainly understood the workings of council and was familiar with the way it worked. 'He was definitely more forthcoming than other new councillors who come to the council.' Dartmoor Forest Parish Council will advertise the vacancy in March in order to maintain consistency with the local elections, which are due to take place in May.
