A COMMUNITY interest company and social enterprise is celebrating after being granted £1,000 by Devon County Council.

TEH, Tavistock Enterprise Hub, in Duke Street, which provides flexible work space for entrepreneurs from Tavistock and the surrounding area, received the cheque by county councillor Debo Sellis.

Adam Fleet, TEH's managing director, said: 'This demonstrates the confidence Devon County Council has in the work we are doing towards growing the economy in Tavistock.

'TEH thrives through the engagement of stakeholders and the community. The funding will be used to support the refurbishment of the hub to offer even more accessible office space in a vibrant micro business community due to a high demand.'

Cllr Sellis said: 'I am delighted that the county council is supporting the work of the hub.

'I am keen to support people to help themselves in the current economic climate and local entrepreneurs are critical to a vibrant local economy, so it's great to acknowledge their importance by helping to provide additional work space.'

The funding to support local action is part of a wider county council initiative to work more closely with local communities to develop innovative partnership working and service delivery.
