OKEHAMPTON Town Council has helped to ensure the battle cry can ring out a lot longer, with a £500 donation to Okehampton Battle of the Bands.

The council presented event organiser Chris Hodgson (left) with a cheque, donated from the town council's grant aid fund.

At the beginning of this financial year, the council allocated money to organisations and charities benefitting the community. Councillors aim to spread the money as fairly and wisely as possible.
