PLANS to convert a butcher?s shop and adjoining slaughterhouse in High Street, Hatherleigh into houses have been approved. West Devon Borough Council turned down an earlier proposal this January to turn the shop into two flats and the slaughterhouse into four houses, arguing it was overdevelopment and would result in inadequate parking provision. Last week, amended plans to convert the property to two dwellings and erect three additional houses on the adjoining land were given outline permission.
