A NEW traditional Tamar Valley Orchard is currently under construction in Harrowbarrow.

The community space opposite St Dominic Park was rotovated last year by a team of Oxford sandy and black pigs before the first apple trees were planted.

It is hoped the orchard will eventually include apple and cherry trees and soft fruits, and become a beautiful space for villagers to enjoy.

Many local hands have helped to get the orchard up and running and thanks were expressed in particular to James Turnock for the gates and fencing, Graham Carter for help with pig feed, Mole Valley Farmers and everyone else who has put in hard work.
