IN the absence of Tavistock Football Club?s chairman Robin Fenner vice chairman Derek Pethick congratulated the Carlsberg Squad on their outstanding season and everyone involved in the club.

The event was held last Friday (June 6) at the Royal British Legion. Guests of honour were the president?s wife Phillipa Lowe and sports writer Mike Sampson who presented the trophies.

Chairman Robin Fenner?s medals for services to the club, Henry Lawrence, Russell Bartlett, John Batten and Gerry Smith. 10 years service award to Physio Les Mewton. Leading goal scorers: Under 18s: Paul Hoskin 20; P&D Richard Scarle 21; Carlsberg South Western League, George Witchell Trophy, Lee Doncaster 25; Carlsberg South Western League Runners up Shield, Club Captain Nathan Blamey. Player of the Year: U18s Lee Howells; P & D Pete Gibson; C S W L Nathan Blamey; Chairman?s Player of the Year Darren Babb; The Ron Bowman Trophy Derek Pethick; Floral tributes to Steward Catherine Rich and Officials Hospitality Lady Angie Beer. A presentation was also made to retiring Player/Coach Graeme Kirkup for his services for the past three years. Club Person of the Year Craig Smith, Joint manager Chris Abbott.

l The club will be holding a barbecue at the Red and Black Club on Saturday June 21 from 2pm onwards. Members please come and support the club.
