Tavistock welcomed back Reed to the side, and his influence produced several early short corners as Tavistock began to take control of the game. The breakthrough came from one of these short corners, Roger Costello firing the ball into the goal. A second quickly followed and a third came from a good move down the right by Holland. Half time saw Tavistock determined not to sit on their lead but to go for more goals. Kelly and Holland continued to terrorise the opposition with their pace, bringing a quick hat-trick for Wickstead. Costello completed his own hat-trick late on, with Kelly adding a further two. Tavistock now stand top of the league and are enjoying their finest ever start to a season. Man of the match was John Wickstead.
