OKEHAMPTON Choral Society?s annual spring concert this year is entitled Gloria, with Vivaldi?s famous stirring Gloria forming the climax of the evening. The varied programme also includes Handel?s Zadok the Priest, Mendelssohn?s Hear My Prayer and the Little Organ Mass by Haydn. As usual the choir will be accompanied by the Okement Players led by Paul Mathews. Soprano Katherine Bond from London and mezzo soprano Mary Burman from Exmouth will again be joining the choir as soloists. Philip Makin from Exeter will be the trumpet soloist and Philip Davey from Truro will be on the organ. The conductor will be John Holland. The choral society is in it?s 34th season, having formed in 1971. The spring concert will take place at Fairplace Church, Okehampton on Saturday, April 30 at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale at the Beanfeast in the Arcade or on the door.
