STANNARY Band has issued a huge thank you to everyone who attended its recent Christmas charity concert in Tavistock Parish Church. A retiring collection made after the event raised a splendid £600, which will be donated to Children?s Hospice South West and Youthwize, and the Rev John Rawlings, vicar of Tavistock, was presented with a special leaving gift prior to his move from the area. Band members would also like to thank Tavistock Musical Theatre Company and the Lions Club of Tavistock for their support at the concert. Cllr Jayne Hill, mayor of West Devon and Cllr Jenny Metcalf, mayor of Tavistock attended the event.
