I WISH to thank all concerned for their generosity in giving a superb concert on Saturday February 5 in Tavistock Town Hall. This concert, the Mayor?s Concert for the Tsunami Appeal, raised over £1,700 in that one evening. At the express wish of the Musical Theatre group, the money was sent to Tavistock Rotary Club. I understand from president Edwin Clark that the money has been used to purchase three Shelterboxes and an Aquabox which have already been dispatched. My thanks are also due to the staff who so thoughtfully helped that evening, and to the generous people of Tavistock who bought every single ticket and raffle tickets and filled buckets! Thank you all. It was a wonderful evening and a gorgeous concert. I was privileged to see the dress rehearsal as well as the concert. We are so very lucky to have such high quality music in Tavistock. I have never seen Alfred Doolitle done better and I speak as one who saw Stanley Holloway twice in 1958 in Drury Lane in ?My Fair Lady?. A huge thank you to Peter Clements and to all in the Musical Theatre Company and to all who gave time and money so generously to this evening to remember. Jenny Metcalf Town Mayor Tavistock
