A home composting roadshow goes out and about in West Devon this month, offering people advice, a discounted composter, a free booklet and a prize draw.
The borough council's recycling team will be promoting the benefits of composting at Fore Street, Okehampton today (Thursday) from 11am to 2pm and at Bedford Square, Tavistock tomorrow (Friday), also from 11am to 2pm.
The team will have tips on how to compost successfully as well as information about community compost groups.
Everyone visiting the road show has the chance to be entered into a free prize draw to win a home composter, and there are a limited number of discounted compost bins at each venue for just £12.
A free booklet all about home composting is also available.
Recycling team member, Andy Barron, said: 'Composting is nature's way of recycling and helps to cut down on the amount of biodegradable waste being sent to landfill.
'It is easy and rewarding to do at home and will leave you with a free soil improver to boost your veggie crops, flowers and shrubs.'
Residents who cannot get to one of the events can also collect a compost bin for £12 from the council's Kilworthy Park offices in Tavistock or from the Okehampton Customer Service Centre in St James Street.
Compost bins can also be ordered via the council's website or by calling 01822 813600.
