TO celebrate national compost awareness week, a variety of compost bins will be available at discounted price at Tavistock Farmers? Market on Saturday (April 26).
And the first few people to purchase a bin will receive an illustrated book, entitled Backyard Composting, worth £4.95, and a packet of giant sunflower seeds.
West Devon Borough Council and Tavistock and District Conservation Project are working with the farmers? market to get the message across that home composting is an effective way of re-using materials that would otherwise be disposed of.
Peter Kent of TDCP, said: ?Following a few simple rules will ensure an odourless product that is easy to use ? and free! Proceeds from the sale of the bins directly benefit local groups and ultimately the local environment.?
