A BUDDING photographer in Tavistock has been highly commended by top celebrity photographer Adrian Houston.

Russell Cox's photograph was shortlisted from hundreds of entries in the nation-wide Amazing Partnerships photography competition, sponsored by Specsavers and in aid of Guide Dogs.

Russell's photograph showed a close-up of a bee in partnership with a flower. He will be presented with a certificate highlighting his achievement, plus a Specsavers eye-wear voucher worth £150 and a framed copy of his photograph.

The Amazing Partnerships competition was launched to support a photography exhibition by Adrian Houston of more than 20 celebrities with their dogs.

Each photograph was auctioned off during a public display at the Haunch of Venison Gallery in London, raising more than £20,000 for Guide Dogs.

Specsavers stores have pledged to raise £250,000 to fund and train 25 new guide dog puppies.
