A VILLAGE photography competition has started for the fourth consecutive year, following its great success in 2011.
The Belstone Photographic Competition looks for the best pictures taken in the village parish throughout the year in three separate categories.
In 2011, Miles Wolstenholme won overall in the 'Nature in close up' category, Chris Walpole took first place in the 'village activities' category, and Jenny How clinched the prize in the 'Belstone in all weathers' category.
The winning photos will hang permanently in the village hall on a canvas print.
Entries for the 2012 competition can be sent to competition organisers Robin and Edwina Hill any time from now until November 1.
This year's competition has three classes; 'Beautiful Belstone', 'Flowers, ferns and fungi', and 'People, Pets and Ponies'.
Each category has two age groups - under 18 and over 18, and a class for Belstone residents and non-residents.
To enter the competition via e-mail, send your photo to [email protected]">[email protected] stating which category and class your photo is entered for.
