THERE?S a sporting chance Okehampton will be an active place to be this Sunday with the finale of Okehampton Sports Week in Simmons Park. More than 30 teams have entered the five-a-side football competition. The ?Super Sporting Sunday? will also include football skills with the Arsenal soccer school who will be bringing a test the speed of your shot machine, hockey skills for adults and young people, tennis, a demonstration of mountain biking by Okefreeriders, in-line skating and a putting competition. There will also be the chance to take advantage of free swimming at Parklands Leisure Centre or try your hand at water polo. The popular annual event which is organised by OCRA has been running for eight years. Activities get underway from 12 noon and run through the afternoon.
