BASTILLE Day will be marked in Hatherleigh this year, with a French pavement café in aid of charity on Saturday July 14. French flags will fly, French music will play, and wine, hot chocolate, pain au chocolat, croissants, and baguettes filled with brie will be on the menu on the broad pavement (almost a boulevard!) outside the town?s Co-op shop. The café will run from 9am until 2pm, and all proceeds will go to the Children?s Society, which is the Co-op?s chosen charity for the year.
