AFTER years of financial uncertainty, building work on Whitchurch Village Hall has finally been completed. Although funds are still being raised for a number of necessary items to furnish the building, committee members have invited the community to come and view the new hall. Kit Thomas, secretary of the committee, said: ?We look forward to seeing lots of you, after all, it?s community money which has paid for the building and we?d love to know your reactions to it.? The hall will be open for viewing on Sunday April 24, Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1 from 5am to 11pm, when coffee and tea will be served. A flower festival and arts and crafts exhibition are already planned for July 15, 16 and 17 and other fund raising events are set to take place, once the hall is fully furnished. The building will also be hired out to members of the public and anyone interested in doing so can discuss prices with booking officer Andrew Mier on 01822 617071. ?The hall is bright, new and wonderful and a credit to the hard work and money raised through so many generous people over the years? said Kit. ?Please do support the events ? it?s not everyday we get a new village hall, so do come along and enjoy it.?
