North/Okes U12s 21

SUNDAY saw the U12s travel to a wet and windy Sidmouth.

Andrew North and Robert Steptoe opened the scoring with a try each with conversions by North. By halfway through the first half it was almost impossible the distinguish between the two teams and at half-time the score was 14 -0.

In harsh conditions both teams played good rugby, and following good forward play from new man Chris Penna an attempted clearance kick by Sidmouth was charged down by North for quick thinking Merrick Kirby to pounce on the loose ball and score his first try this season. Conversion by North.

The home team raised their game and scored an excellent try at the end of the game.

No training on Friday night.

North/Okes U11s 12

NORTH/Okes kept Sidmouth under pressure for most of the first half,with good handling and fine defensive work. In the wet and muddy conditions scrums became uncontested.

North/Okes opened the scoring with a try after a fine solo run by James Speak, converted by Mike Heard. Sidmouth soon replied with as unconverted try.

As half-time approached the teams again exchanged tries, with James Speak scoring his second, to leave the scores level.

The second half saw Sidmouth raise their game, starve North/Okes of the ball and score two more tries.
